I am Sapna Fliedner, Founder of Green Moms Prevent Disease, and I am here to do my part to change the world for the benefit of my children. Here is a little about me …
Although my first B.A. degree was in Interior Design and Architecture, my interest in health has always driven me. It quickly replaced my design interest and led me into nursing and attending NYU (New York University), where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. I went on to attend UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) and received a Masters of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
It wasn’t long before I realized that modern medicine doesn’t always improve health, and often uses what I consider to be a “band aid approach” to disease. What I mean by that is it does not get to the root cause of disease; in fact, I saw many patients for the same ailment time and time again. It was frustrating that we were not helping people who really needed help and who really wanted to feel better.
So I went on a quest for information to help me understand why patients were not getting better. Years of research led me to my interest in an alternative, non-conventional approach to medicine. I have since had the opportunity to explore some fascinating and powerful modalities of health and disease prevention, including Ayurvedic methods, homeopathy, nutrition and even the value of lifestyle changes. I have witnessed some amazing results and currently use these practices for myself and with my own family.
My passion is helping families reverse and prevent disease and suffering by going to the root cause, and guiding them to achieve their maximum health potential. I am continuing my studies at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and will soon be certified as a Holistic Health Coach. Nothing is more fulfilling to me than consulting with families on ways to upgrade their health and seeing the positive results that come about!
In addition to researching and consulting with clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 children, doing yoga, traveling the world, making tasty raw dishes from my organic garden and reading spiritual philosophy.
