My name is Ruthie Guten. I am a certified holistic health coach and a Professional Civil Engineer.
In 2010, I retired from a career in water resources, public works engineering and transportation in order to pursue my passion as a Lifestyle Educator and Healthy Community Advocate. Shortly thereafter, I graduated from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and became certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
In addition to my health coaching practice, I am an independent engineering consultant, where my focus is on the planning and building of healthy communities. I am the founder of DFW Health Coaches as well as the owner of E-Scentially Yours.
I am a writer, certified health coach, essential oils custom blender, and a professional engineer. I am also a wife, daughter, sister and a mother of three. As a health coach, I am an advocate for living an energized and passionate life and practice a holistic approach in everything I do, whether as a health coach, lifestyle educator or as an engineer who is known regionally for my efforts to promote sustainability and quality of life.
I received my education in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington and my nutrition training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. A lifelong student, I am currently obtaining my certification as a First Line Therapy Lifestyle Educator and my diploma in Spiritual PhytoEssencing™.
With over twenty-five years experience in Public Works and Engineering, I retired from my position as Public Works Director in the City of Cedar Hill in 2010 to pursue my passion for healthy living and to promote a sustainable vision for North Texas that supports healthy community initiatives within the Region. In that regard, I serve on the Speakers Bureau for Vision North Texas.
Throughout my career, my focus was on mentoring and staff development. I am an avid advocate for Public Works and for those men and women who on a daily basis, take care of the citizen’s basic needs. As a Holistic Health Coach, my focus is on providing general nutrition and wellness support to my clients with a focus on strengthening the fabric of our healthy communities.
